Pontons is rich in springs, caves or country paths for hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. Here we can enjoy nature that is surprisingly wild, just 70 kilometres from Barcelona. On the other hand, the land of the Penedès region, rich in vineyards, opens its doors to us to explore the world of wine making. You will find and extensive network of routes to visit cellars and wineries, with tastings of wine or cava, along with the Wine Museum of Catalonia, in Vilafranca. Here, depending on the time of year you come to visit us, you can also enjoy the fantastic “castells” (human towers) for Saint Fèlix at the beginning of September, the ViJazz festival in early July or the Fira del Gall (Rooster Fair) just before Christmas.
We also have the beaches of Vilanova just over 30 minutes away, or for history lovers, the monastery of Santes Creus, which is on the “Cistercian Route”, 8Kms. from Pontons.
Just as we can enjoy taking a stroll in the heart of nature, observing the vines and the lambs and going out to look for mushrooms in the autumn, we can alao stay at home, having a quiet relaxing day in our Spa or cooking some delicious sausages from “Maria Rosa” in the covered barbecue-dining area and enjoying a fine glass of Penedès wine.
